Minerva
A citizen science project in gamification and learning
Are you interested in getting a free education in gamification and learning while contributing to science and development?
Minerva is a citizen science project in collaboration between scientists at the University of Skövde, Kristiania University and Center for Excellent IT Education, University of Gothenburg, Online Partner and Insert Coin. Project manager is Adam Palmquist and Minerva is part of his dissertation project at the University of Skövde. One of the basic purposes of citizen science is to give the public the opportunity to help scientists with different issues. At the same time, the citizen gains insight about scientific science. Your role in the project is to be a science assistant. Your task is to share your opinions and observations regarding the Bossfight gamification tool. In the Minerva project you have the opportunity to engage in four levels.
The Minerva project are for those who wants to:
- Get more knowledge about gamification and learning
- Explore how gamification works through a modern digital tool
- Get a good example of how to structure online education
- Contribute with your thoughts and ideas to science in gamification and learning
The course starting on June 2 is fully booked. We will return with new dates for the next occasions.
About the course
The course is free of charge. Level 1, 2, 3 and 4 of the course is held once a month in Google Classroom with the Bossfight extension. It is about 6 hours long and is based on Adam Palmquist’s course at the University of Gothenburg: “Games and simulations as environments for learning” (PDA683) and his book “Det spelifierade klassrummet” (The Gamified Classroom).
